David Melillo Bio
David has a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Rhode Island (1987) and is a professional engineer in the states of New York and Connecticut. David started his career at STV Group as a project engineer where he consulted for clients in the transportation industry and local municipalities on the design and construction of highways and railroad projects.
David joined Metro-North Railroad in 1993 as Senior Structural Engineer and worked his way up to the Director of Construction Management (2003-2012) in the Capital Programs Division. David became the Director of Track and Structures (2012-2018), Chief Engineer (2018-2020) and promoted to his current position as the Vice President of Engineering in 2020 for the Maintenance of Way Division. He currently manages a workforce of 2,500 employees responsible for the inspection, maintenance, and construction of the track structures, signal, communication, power, and PTC systems throughout Metro-North’s Territory.
