Student Bio: Born and raised in Connecticut I attended Bowdoin College and received a Bachelor’s degree in Physics. I am currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering under the guidance of Roberto Lopez-Anido and Andrew Goupee.
Thesis title: Implementation of a Structural Health Monitoring System for Carbon Fiber Composite Cables in the Penobscot Narrows Bridge
Thesis Summary: By collecting and modeling structural health data from the Penobscot Narrows Bridge in association with an in-depth literature review I hope to make an assessment on the durability of Carbon Fiber Composite Cables in infrastructure applications.
